where Neurodivergent kids don't get punished for being themselves.

We are the Brooks family, parents to five Neurodivergent children, and Autism and homeschooling shape everything we do. Being late diagnosed ourselves gave us the clarity to truly see and understand our kids, including navigating non-verbal communication, sensory needs, and picky eating.
Our home is built around regulation, connection, and honoring how Neurodivergent children actually learn and thrive.
Our advocacy was shaped by lived experience, including leaving Georgia and moving to North Carolina, living in a camper so we could find a doctor who would finally listen and diagnose our daughter. I hold degrees in education and am deeply passionate about advocating for Autism and supporting families like ours.

TheeLemonadeFamily is a platform run by Brittney Brooks, a regulated mom of 5 neurodivergent kids. We share autism resources, homeschooling support, AAC tools, and unparenting guidance to help neurodivergent families feel seen, supported, and less alone.
We offer free downloadable resources including a Homeschool Visual Schedule for Neurodivergent Children and an Unparenting Starter Checklist. Visit our Shop page to download them instantly — no purchase needed, just your name and email.
Unparenting is the practice of breaking generational trauma cycles by choosing to show up regulated, present, and differently for your neurodivergent children — honoring who they are rather than punishing them for it. It starts with healing yourself first.
